    The Governors of Hilltop Academy
    What do the Governors do?

    The role of the Governing Body is a strategic one, its key functions are to:

    • work with the Headteacher to promote and maintain high standards of educational achievement
    • set the aims and objectives for the Academy
    • set the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives
    • be a source of challenge and support to the Executive Headteacher and Headteacher (a critical friend)
    • ensure oversight of the financial performance of the school and effective use of the school’s resources


    Governing Body meetings
    The Governing Body holds four governor meetings in an academic year to meet and
    review the progress of the school. The Governing Body meetings for 2024/25 are as
    follows:

    • 30th September 2025
    • 3rd February 2026
    • 21st April 2026
    • 7th July 2026
